Taste the lively flavors of the Gold medal-winning Winter Fox Syrah
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Winter Fox
Syrah
Peer through the trees of North America in midwinter, and if you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of red fur against the white and grey backdrop. That spark of color offers hope that there is life amidst the stark landscape. The Winter Fox Syrah presents an austere face but is actually lively, juicy, and delicious. We love the dark notes of vanilla, pepper, and cinnamon that play off of the dark fruit flavors. Long aging also gave it hints of mocha that sit alongside the oak. We recommend pairing this lively Syrah with rich dishes like beef stew, truffles, and roasted mushrooms. Judges loved the nuances as well and sent it home from the 2019 Denver International Wine Competition with a Gold medal!

WINE REGION:
California
California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
