Valle de Viñedo

Maule Valley, Chile

A fruit-forward Cabernet shaped by the Maule Valley

$30.00

ABOUT THIS WINE:

Valle de Viñedo

Valle de Viñedo

Cabernet Sauvignon

Our Cab just earned 97 points from the 2022 International Women's Wine Competition!
Valle de Viñedo showcases the beauty of the Maule Valley with our Cabernet Sauvignon. Jammy black fruit flavors join the complexity and nuance of oak influence in this Chilean red. Cabernet Sauvignon is ideally suited to the Maule Valley's Mediterranean climate, where warm days bathe thick-skinned Cabernet grapes in sunlight, amplifying dark fruit notes and softening tannins. As night falls, temperatures plummet thanks to cooling winds from the nearby Andes Mountains. This puts ripening on pause and preserves the grape's natural acidity. Throughout the summer, the region's clay soils naturally hold onto water and keep vines refreshed. This harmonious relationship between climate and grape variety allows for a balanced, fruit-forward wine. It also makes it easy for winemakers to conserve water ...

WINE REGION:

Outline of Maule Valley

Maule Valley

When it comes to well-balanced reds of great value, Chile's Maule Valley is hard to beat. The southernmost part of Chile's Central Valley, Maule is a large sub-region with many microclimates and soil types. The Maule River and the nearby Pacific Ocean both greatly influence its climate. Maule was one of the first places in Chile planted with grapevines. It is famed today for its 100-year-old Carignan vines and the densely sumptuous wines they produce. More typical, however, are its powerful Cabernet Sauvignon, spicy aromatic Carménère and plush Merlot reds. For whites, check out Maule's cheery Sauvignon Blanc and rounded Chardonnay. Chile’s Denominación de Origen (DO) classification system focuses on separating wines by the physical location of origin. To use the DO classification on a label, a producer must have pulled 85 percent of the fruit used in a wine from a defined regional location. The DO system names wine regions in the country from north to south.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

large bunches of red grapes on the vine

Valle de Viñedo

Chile is known for its dramatic landscape, which is unlike any other. As you travel inland from one of the world's longest coastlines, the landscape shifts abruptly, climbing to the extreme heights of the Andes Mountains. Between these soaring peaks, pockets and valleys become the cradle for vineyards, creating the ideal climate for viticulture. Valle de Viñedo wines, too, are unlike any other. With each sip, prepare to be transported.
