Our Sestien Wind Cellars Sauvignon Blanc comes from South Africa’s iconic Western Cape. This region is known for its dramatic scenery, complex history and stunning wines. Our 2021 vintage captures the essence of a sun-soaked, windy coastline with its refreshing aromatics, crisp acidity and exotic fruit flavors. Winemaking in South Africa may be considered up and coming, but its viticultural history dates back to 1652. Our local winemaking partners are among South Africa’s oldest family-owned estates and one of the first vineyards established in the Robertson Wine Valley. This experience guides them as they mindfully harvest these Sauvignon Blanc grapes at three stages of ripeness to capture a balance of herbaceous character and ripe tropical fruit. Sandwiched between the country's majestic mountains and its cooling ocean coasts (the Atlantic to the west of the Cape of Good Hope, the Indian Ocean to its east), the Western Cape offers a wealth of winemaking riches. Regions here include the Breede River Valley, Cape South Coast, Coastal Region, Klein Karoo and Olifants River.
