Quedarse
Spain
Taste the refreshing flavors of this undersung Spanish grape in this award-winning take
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Quedarse
Airén
Airén is one of the most planted, but least talked about Spanish grapes. We think that’s an absolute shame. This beautiful white grape makes wines that have bright acidity and restrained citrus fruit flavors. With low alcohol, this subtly floral, citrus-dominated wine is beautifully balanced and fabulous for the summer. The crisp minerality adds a vibrancy to the texture of the wine. If you are going to pair it with food we think that fresh fruits and vegetables with seafood is the way to go. Try it with olives as an appetizer before enjoying Paella. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal at the 2018 Sommelier Challenge and the 2018 Harvest Challenge.

WINE REGION:
Spain
While its reputation as a serious wine destination was eclipsed by France and Italy for many years, ignoring Spain today means missing out on some of the world's most exciting wines. Enjoying hundreds of miles of sun-kissed coastline and rocky interiors at higher elevations, Spain provides an ideal location for vineyards. Whether it is sparkling cavas from Catalonia, crisp Verdejos from Rueda, sublime Tempranillos from Ribera del Duero or inky Monastrells from Valencia, Spain has many wine styles to explore, all expressing the country's wildly unique terroir.
