Dry Rosé
“Best of South Africa” Posted Accord returns with a new wine in this refreshing 2021 Dry Rosé. Our winemakers agreed that this rosé was both refreshing and “a bit wild.” This description is on par with what we can expect from the exciting vineyards of Swartland, South Africa. Our rosé’s red fruit, bramble-like nature, and mouthwatering textures offer an approachable taste of this untamed region. In this hot, dry climate, the risk of drought is ever-present. Luckily for our local winemaking partners, shale soils with pockets of granite hang onto moisture longer than average, helping keep the vines well-hydrated. The vine’s roots dive deep into the earth in search of water, and while there, they also discover vital minerals and nutrients, resulting in a distinctly South African flavor profile. Our rosé results from conflicting forces coming together to find a delicious common ground.

Swartland is one of South Africa's largest wine regions, famed for its mouthwatering Chenin Blancs, fragrant Syrahs and punchy Pinotage. Forty miles north of Cape Town, Swartland covers a large area from the Atlantic Ocean to the sun-kissed plains of Piketberg. The region has a hot, dry climate away from the cooling ocean, with ancient shale and granite-based soils. This forces the vines to work hard, producing small but concentrated grapes.
