La Douleur Exquise
Comté Tolosan IGP, France
A bright Southern French-styled expressive springtime sipper
ABOUT THIS WINE:
La Douleur Exquise
Rosé
Comté Tolosan is an appellation that covers the Southwest growing region in France. The primary red grapes grown there include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay, and Malbec. This is why we have sourced our rewarding Rosé from this part of France - we were looking for high-quality, concentrated, layered, fruit-flavors with a textural mouthfeel - and we found it.

WINE REGION:
Comté Tolosan IGP
For unpretentious but boldly flavored wine, look no further than Comté Tolosan in the southwest of France. This sprawling region is bordered by mountains—the rugged Pyrenees to the south and the Massif Central to the northeast—with the Atlantic Ocean providing maritime influence from the west. Most Comté Tolosan wines come from along the banks of the Garonne River, where well-drained terraces help grapes develop a deep concentration of flavor. Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc are the most popular grapes here, but you will also see plenty of rare red and white blends made from local grapes like Tannat, Colombard and Petit Manseng. IGP (Indication Géographique protégée) within France’s wine classification system focuses on controlling regional and geographical origin. The category is less restrictive than the AOC classification and gives winemakers more freedom with style and taste profile when creating wines.

ABOUT THE BRAND:
La Douleur Exquise
As the French Proverb states, "there are two great pleasures in gambling; that of winning and that of losing." Even to the seasoned winemaker, each vintage presents unique challenges concerning not only Mother Nature but everything leading to the finished bottle. However, much like the greatest players, the finest winemakers spend countless hours studying and honing their craft to minimize risk. La Douleur Exquise embraces this labor of love. We capitalize on the wins of each vintage by utilizing the learnings of our past, making each of our wines a sure bet.
