Four and Twenty
California
Taste the polished flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon in the award-winning, member favorite Four and Twenty to Firstleaf
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Four and Twenty
Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon can come in all kinds of styles, from big, high-alcohol fruit “bombs” to light, airy young wines. Cabernet Sauvignon contains multitudes. The newest offering from Four and Twenty is a middle ground, polished style of Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a decent amount of tannins and texture that play off the black fruit flavors. The deep ruby color looks beautiful in a glass and is just now starting to show earthy flavors that complement the richness of the fruit. The well-integrated tannins contrast acidic tomato-based dishes, but would also be great with fruity sauces on your favorite game. We like having it alongside duck with figs or plum braised pork. Judges love it too! It took home a Bronze medal from the 2019 Sunset International Wine Competition!

WINE REGION:
California
California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
