Pinotage

Curioture is once again bringing a unique regional specialty to the table. Our Pinotage is crafted in South Africa's classic "Coffee Pinotage" style, boasting notes of roast coffee, chocolate and ripe berry fruit. After Swartland's warm, dry conditions create smooth textures and capture concentrated fruit notes, winemakers use heavily toasted oak barrels to achieve this style's coffee-like character. The final wine showcases both the winemaker's hand and the area's unique climate. Instead of serving this Pinotage with a meal, we encourage you to enjoy it by itself. Take your time to swirl, sniff and enjoy each layer of its complexity. It would also make an excellent post-dinner pairing with hard, salty cheeses or roasted nuts that allow the wine to remain the star of the show. WINE REGION:

Outline of Swartland

Swartland

Swartland is one of South Africa's largest wine regions, famed for its mouthwatering Chenin Blancs, fragrant Syrahs and punchy Pinotage. Forty miles north of Cape Town, Swartland covers a large area from the Atlantic Ocean to the sun-kissed plains of Piketberg. The region has a hot, dry climate away from the cooling ocean, with ancient shale and granite-based soils. This forces the vines to work hard, producing small but concentrated grapes.
