A boldly flavored 93 point and Gold Medal-winning Tempranillo sure to please all palates
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Comarca
Tempranillo
Critics adore this as much as we do—the wine received 93 points and a Gold Medal from the 2020 Sommelier Choice Awards! Spain’s environment is near idyllic for winegrowing—bright sunny days and cool evenings allow fruit to fully ripen while maintaining natural acidity. Our winemaking partners who crafted this beautiful Tempranillo purposely plant their vineyards close to the ocean as the breezy winds that come off the water help fruit develop incredibly concentrated flavors. The 2019 growing year was a bit drier than usual and resulted in a higher yield of fruit during harvest with intense color and high alcohol levels. Winemakers chose to keep many clusters as whole berries rather than to crush them immediately. The result is a rich and textural wine with bold dark fruit flavors, signature Tempranillo spiciness, and smooth, round tannins that linger on the palate. Scroll th ...

ABOUT THE BRAND:
Comarca
Comarca — meaning "region" — recognizes Spain's traditional and historic divisions of land and winegrowing regions. The countryside emulates a colorful mosaic with trellised vines, varied soil types, and unique topography, all of which assemble to create the distinct beauty of Spanish terroir. Our wines also combine numerous factors, which, under the skilled care of the vineyard manager and winemaker, embody the spirit of the land and the complexity of this centuries-old craft.
