Chromatrope
France
An award winning White wine from the South of France
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Chromatrope
Bergerac Blanc
There are good wines and there are great wines, and the Chromatrope 2016 Bergerac Blanc is definitely a great wine. A standout from the Southwest corner of France, this white comes from one of the rising stars of the French wine scene: Nicholas Idiart of Maison Idiart. Nicholas was the youngest ever graduate of the famous Blanquefort wine school in Bordeaux and has since traveled the world making wine and learning new techniques. Now he’s finally back home doing what he loves: making fantastic wine. At Firstleaf we are happy he’s making wines because we can get back to what we love: drinking Nicholas’s fantastic wines. Judges love them too! It won 93 points and a gold medal at the 2017 Sommelier Challenge!

WINE REGION:
France
While it was not the first country to master winemaking, no other country has determined the course of wine and wine culture as much as France. From the sparkling wines of Champagne to the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay of Burgundy; from Bordeaux's sumptuous blends to Alsace's Riesling; and from the Loire Valley's Sauvignon Blancs to exciting new regions like Pays d'Oc in the south, France has given the world nearly all the major styles and grape varieties that dominate what we drink today. There are numerous reasons why France and wine are so inextricably linked, but perhaps the foremost is geography. Few places can rival France's unique array of hot and cool-climate regions and the abundant maritime influences and mountainous terrain found throughout the country.
