The basics of WinePrint ™

WinePrint ™ consists of 3 main sections: a white wines profile, a red wines profile and a glossary. Each taste profile is broken down into five sections:

1. Your flavor profile

Flavor-profile

Here, you’ll see an in-depth look at the specific wine characteristics you’re typically delighted by.

2. At the restaurant say...

At the restaurant say

This is a phrase you can use to describe your taste in wine. You can share it with sommeliers, wine store employees, and friends to help them recommend more wines you’ll love.

3. Your Top Tasting Notes

Top tasting notes

This section highlights the tasting notes you enjoy most in a red or white wine—whether that’s fruity, floral, oaky, or something else.

4. Your top regions

Top regions

Here, we showcase the regions where your favorite wines are produced. Into bold Napa Cabs? Love light and refreshing Italian Pinot Grigios? Understanding which regions produce your favorite wines can help you discover new bottles to try.

5. Your top varieties

Top varieties

This section highlights the specific grape varieties you enjoy the most, with a brief description of each varietal that helps you better understand their unique characteristics.

In addition to the reds and white wines profiles, the WinePrint Glossary is a great resource for understanding the nuances of wine characteristics like acidity, sweetness, body, and more. With this knowledge, you’ll be better equipped to select wines that match your unique taste preferences.

How does WinePrint work?

To create your WinePrint, we rely on two key sources of information: quiz questions and wine ratings.

When you first sign up for Firstleaf, you're prompted to take a brief quiz that helps us understand your general taste preferences. This information is used as a starting point for creating your WinePrint, but we don't stop there.

WinePrint Red wines profile

As you receive and enjoy different wines, we encourage you to rate each bottle as positive, negative, or neutral. These ratings are incredibly valuable in helping us fine-tune your taste profile and ensure that we're sending you wines that you'll truly love. So whether you're thrilled with a particular bottle or less than impressed, rate it! Your feedback helps us ensure that we're providing you with the best possible wine exploration experience.

Rating wines

Because the more wines you rate, the more personalized your boxes become and the more robust your WinePrint gets. And as your WinePrint becomes more accurate, we're able to recommend wines that are even better suited to your unique taste preferences.

So check out your unique WinePrint—and make sure you’re consistently rating bottles! Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or just starting to explore, WinePrint helps you find your place in the wide world of wine.
