Drunk Parents (2019)

As the name implies, Selma Hayek and Alec Baldwin are two parents who abuse wine in their struggle to overcome their financial issues and hide it from their children. At the heart of the couple's dysfunction is their unhealthy love for red wine, like Merlot and Pinot Noir. Their red obsession drives the chaos in the film. To shield their children from this reality, they develop complex schemes in their community to raise themselves out of financial ruin.

Friendsgiving (2020)

This comedy-drama follows the lives of Molly and Abbey, celebrating Thanksgiving in their home with their friends. This chaotic and mayhem-filled dinner features the classic food and drinks associated with the holiday, including an array of red wine and white wine most wine lovers would enjoy. Bottle Shock (2008)

Bottle Shock, a charming movie based in Napa Valley, is favorite film for many wine lovers. Bottle Shock is about how a Chardonnay crafted by a Napa Valley winery (made by Chateau Montelena) beat the French competition in the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976. 

Bottle Rocket features popular actors Bill Pullman (playing Chateau Montelena’s Jim Barrett), Chris Pine (as Jim’s son, Bo Barrett), and Alan Rickman (as British wine personality, Steven Spurrier). This wine comedy follows Spurrier's (Alan Rickman’s) efforts to find the best wine that Napa Valley had to offer. Sideways (2004)

Sideways is a romantic comedy directed by Alexander Payne that details the story and relationship between Miles (Paul Giamatti), a wine connoisseur and writer, and his newly-engaged best friend, Jack (Thomas Haden Church). A Good Year (2006)

This romantic comedy starring Russell Crowe and Abbie Cornish follows the British stock broker (Russell Crowe) managing his recent inheritance, a chateau in Provence, France, which includes a vineyard. As he spent much of his childhood in Provence, Russell Crowe's character learns to live a more relaxed lifestyle through winemaking and renovating the old vineyard.  A Good Year is one of the best wine movies streaming.

A Walk in the Clouds (1995)

Starring Keanu Reeves, this romantic drama follows a young World War I soldier (Keanu Reeves) pretending to be the husband of a single pregnant woman stuck in her traditionalist town; she faces great danger from her father. To save herself from her father's misplaced anger, she and the soldier form a new relationship in the vineyards of Northern California wine country.

Blood and Wine (1996)

This is a neo-noir thriller starring Jack Nicholson as Alex Gates, a career wine salesman and father failing his family. Set in Miami, the film portrays Alex's decision to commit a bank heist to support his failing business and family. Filmmakers use wine as a central theme, using Alex, who has long abstained from drinking alcohol, juxtaposing his wife's wine exploits throughout the film.

SOMM: Into the bottle (2015)

You will be my Son (2011)

This drama and thriller tell the harrowing story of Paul, the owner of a prestigious vineyard, obsessed with his legacy. Paul neglects his son, Martin, a willing and trying man with a winemaking degree, yet Paul sees no value in him. Paul looks elsewhere for a son to secure his legacy, introducing Phillipe, the son of a dying estate manager who wants to inherit Paul's legacy himself.

A Year in Burgundy (2013)

David Kennard's "A Year in Movies" is focused on the production history and culture of wine and other spirits in traditional winemaking communities. This film follows seven different families in the Burgundy region of France, each of the winemakers. The movie observes these families through the full year, documenting the culture and business from grape to glass.

A Year in Champagne (2014)

Kennard's A Year in Champagne features renowned wine connoisseur Martine Saunier narrating the audience through the region of Champagne in France to understand the full history and production methods of real champagne.
