Le Temps des Récoltes

Bordeaux AOP, France

An exceptional vintage of our award-winning Bordeaux Blanc

ABOUT THIS WINE:

Le Temps des Récoltes

Le Temps des Récoltes

Bordeaux Blanc

This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.

Winemaking From the vineyard to the winery, temperature is key to capturing the essence of this historic blend. To capitalize on a successful vintage, harvest is swift, and grapes are kept cool on their way to the winery as soon as they leave the vine. These low temperatures are maintained throughout fermentation, encouraging Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon to showcase their elegant, floral aromatics, citrus-driven palate and hallmark textures.

Vintage Our 2020 vintage kicked off to an early start. As vines awoke from their winter rest, they were greeted by a wet spring, followed by a dry, hot summer with the occasional roar of thirst-quenching thunderstorms across the region. Bordeaux’s signature maritime influences kept high daytime temperatures in check, preventing overripening. Harvest too ...

WINE REGION:

Outline of Bordeaux AOP

Bordeaux AOP

Probably the world's most famous wine region, Bordeaux is a true powerhouse of French quality. While Bordeaux is home to some of the country's most expensive bottles, it is also possible to find great-value wines from small producers. Almost all red and white wines from Bordeaux are blends. Reds tend to be a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. But just as important as the blends are the quality of the region's terroir and unique winemaking techniques. The Bordeaux region is divided by the Gironde River into two main parts. Cabernet Sauvignon reigns supreme on the the Left Bank, while Merlot dominates the Right Bank. White wines are usually a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The AOP (Appellation d'Origine Protégée) classification for French wine relates to wine being from a specific region that is significantly regulated. The regions are both large and small, each with its own set of rules for permitted varietals, production standards and quality control cues.

TASTING NOTES:

The nose is bright and fresh with white flower aromas in this Sauvignon Blanc-led blend. The palate displays crisp acidity with tropical fruit flavors accompanied by a wet-stone-like minerality. Decant to allow aromas to evolve.
