Beni di Batasiolo
Barolo, Italy
A 92 point Nebbiolo from the Dogliani family's Piedmont winery
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Beni di Batasiolo
Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo is a beautiful grape that can transport you to another place entirely. These Nebbiolo grapes are picked from all five of Beni di Batasiolo’s Cru vineyards in early October and fermented for two weeks before spending years aging in oak casks and steel tanks for just the right balance of structure and flavor. The resulting wine is classic Nebbiolo with aromas full of fruit and flowers offset by a hint of tar. On the tongue, it is refined and elegant, and complex. A truly delicious wine worthy of the 92 points it received from James Suckling.
Due to state registrations, we cannot ship this wine to AL, AZ, CO, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, SD, TX, VT, WA.ABOUT THIS WINE

Barolo
Revered as the "king of wines" and the "wine of kings," Barolo is one of Italy's top red wines. Don't let its pale color fool you—a good Barolo packs a serious punch. Barolo is made from Nebbiolo, a grape that is famously complex, with a love-it-or-hate-it potpourri aroma often described as "tar and roses." As well as these savory and floral notes, other flavors you might find in your glass include red cherry, star anise and leather. While there are a lot of good Nebbiolo wines made in Piedmont, to gain the name "Barolo" a wine must come from the Barolo region. The wine also needs to spend 40 months aging before release, with at least 18 of those months spent in oak barrels. The DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) classification is the top tier for Italian wine classifications. It controls production methods and wine quality. Strict rules oversee the production of DOCG designated wines, including allowed varietals, winemaking procedures, barrel and bottle aging methods, grape ripeness and limits on grape yields during harvest. DOCG wines are also required to be officially tasted. DOCG bottles have numbered government seals across the neck of the bottle to prevent forgery.

ABOUT THE BRAND:
Beni di Batasiolo
A good wine reveals to the world the soul of its vineyard, evokes its traditions and developments, and encapsulates the unique notes of the season that ripened its grapes. Every vintage arouses a different emotion, making it truly unique. The difference is real history, the fragrant lands, and the everyday lives of the people. The Dogliani family takes on this challenge with immense passion, crafting wines that conserve the richness of their identity, from the vine to the chalice, wherever they are tasted. Beni di Batasiolo is the story of the Dogliani family. The family has lived in a world of wine for five generations in Italy’s Langhe district, whose vineyards have contributed immensely to making Italian wines famous worldwide. In these lands of oblique light and veiled mists, the Dogliani family has lived through the many changes in the recent history of these fields, which perhaps have seen more transformations in the last fifty years than over the centuries before.
